Disney has dropped the atomic bomb: twenty new Marvel and Star Wars series are coming

Source: TELEX

With a brutal amount of series, Disney is pushing a streaming service called Disney +, and the worlds of Marvel and Star Wars will be strengthened with ten series each in three to four years. Marvel will resurrect the Fantastic Four, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader will return, but an Alien series will also arrive soon.

On Thursday, Disney held its annual big show to investors (and the profession, well to the public) with huge announcements. The events of similar film companies are usually pretty important anyway, a week ago Warner Bros. caused a minor industry shock when it announced that in 2021, all of their new film premieres will go to their streaming platform, HBO Max, at the same time. They immediately started burying the cinemas, but it would be premature.

Disney didn’t make a similar promise, but they still managed to slam into the letcho when it was announced that they would appear on the Disney + streaming platform with ten or ten Marvel and Star Wars series in the coming years, with fifteen more live-action and animation and Pixar series. is also expected in the coming years, but fifteen films are also planned in this category.

With this, Disney will be appearing with essentially new content every week on its streaming site, launched last year, which has since far been much more optimistic than expected, and will have 86 million subscribers in less than a year. On the international line, the Star streaming platform is being further strengthened, and quite a few new series have also been announced for Hulura.

But let’s take a look at what was also announced and what they showed at Thursday’s event, where they didn’t reveal all of their cards in addition to announcing which department expects how much production in the next three to four years. We tried to focus on what is new or, in the case of projects that have already been fixed, completely new information.

The Mandalorian will also receive two sibling series, better too say, spinoffs: as expected, Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) will be able to flash her lightsabers in her own series, but a separate series will be given to New Republic Law Enforcement officers called Rangers of the New Republic. The story threads of the three series will occasionally slide into each other in the spirit of complete synergy.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch, rooted in Clone Wars, arrives on an animated line that will focus on a special unit of clones with special mutations.

Star Wars: Andor, a series about the character of the Rogue One, Diego Luna, will arrive in 2022, but there will be a new series from the much older times of the High Republic called The Acolyte, which will show the golden age of the Jedi in roughly two hundred years. in the days before Ominous Shadows, and will focus mainly on female characters.

We can lock a new droid in our hearts alongside R2-D2 and C-3PO in Droid Story, and Hayden Christensen will play Darth Vader again in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, in which, of course, Ewan McGregor will be the wise Jedi Master.

Lando Calrissian also gets his own series, probably in small parts, while a series of anime anthologies called Star Wars: Visions comes.

As for the movies, the Rogue Squadron is coming in December 2023 with a team of pilots. We didn’t know more about Taika Waititi’s Star Wars movie, nor did we know what was going on with Rian Johnson’s planned trilogy that would leave the world of Skywalkers far and wide.
